Seeking to Get Pregnant
Jarvis and Sadie Sampson had aspirations of becoming parents to each other. They used fertility treatments and ovulation testing in an attempt to conceive naturally. They hoped and prayed for a positive pregnancy test for 14 long months, but every month brought despair.
Getting Medical Assistance
Sadie and Jarvis went to the physicians in a desperate attempt to get answers. Sadly, the only advice given to them was to try losing weight. Sadie lost 28 pounds after undergoing gastric surgery in the hopes of improving their chances of becoming pregnant. However, their desire to have a biological kid remained unfulfilled even after they lost the weight.
A Text That Completely Shifted Everything
Sadie and Jarvis received a text message that would permanently change their life just when they were beginning to lose hope. A friend inquired if they would think about providing temporary care for an infant in need of foster care. The pair hesitated for a moment but then consented. They had no idea that this choice would usher in the most amazing chapter of their life.
Fostering to Adoption
A brief foster arrangement quickly developed into an adoption opportunity. Sadie and Jarvis were deemed the ideal parents for the child by the biological mother. They went from being childless to becoming parents over night.
Baby Ezra, welcome to the world!
At just 4 pounds, 5 ounces, their son Ezra Lee was born prematurely at 33 weeks gestation. Sadie can still clearly remember seeing him for the first time, wrapped up in a white blanket with blue and pink patterns. He was incredibly cute even with his little stature and the difficulties he had as an early baby.
Accepting Love Without Conditions
After posting about their happiness on social media, Sadie and Jarvis were flooded with messages of support. In just three days, friends and strangers bought 55 of the 72 things on their registry. When their adoption of Ezra was officially finalized in October 2020, they commemorated the occasion with a sweet family photo session. They wore matching t-shirts with the slogan “Families Don’t Have to Match.”
Growing Their Adoring Family
Through embryo donation, Sadie and Jarvis were able to expand their family in 2021 when they welcomed twin girls, Journee and Destinee. Their family was complete with these lovely blessings, demonstrating the limitless nature of love.

Sadie, Jarvis, and their three kids are a remarkable family that defies social conventions and expectations in love. They think that the unshakable links of love, rather than appearances or DNA, define family. William John Garner was Jennifer Gardner’s dad. Who was he?
KBTX News 3 says that William John “Billy” Garner went to Texas A&M University and got his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering in 1961 and his Master of Chemical Engineering in 1976.
Stephen Garner was the dad of Jennifer Garner, Susannah Kay Garner Carpenter, and Melissa Garner Wylie.
Pat Garner, their mother, was his wife for almost 60 years.Jennifer wrote a blog post on January 1, 2024, to celebrate her parents’ 59th wedding anniversary.
“Happy 59th wedding anniversary to my loving and sweet parents!” “Thank you, Mom and Dad, for making sure my sisters and I had a safe and happy childhood,” she wrote.
She was born in Texas and grew up in Charleston, West Virginia.
The Hindustan Times says that William worked for Union Carbide as a chemical engineer.
What killed William John Garner?
“My dad died in peace on Saturday afternoon.” When he left, we were with him and sang “Amazing Grace.” Did we carry him across or scare him away? That’s a good question. “The death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy, happy life is not a tragedy, but I know that grief is inevitable and can come up at any time,” she wrote.
“Today is a day to be thankful,” she said.
“We are thankful for Dad’s kind nature and quiet strength.” For the way he teased with a sly grin and made up the part of the all-in, always-patient girl dad. He has a strong work ethic, is a good leader, and has faith.
But Jennifer did say that William was treated at Charleston Area Medical Center and City of Hope. She did not say what killed William.
“We want to thank the medical staff at Charleston Area Medical Center and City of Hope.” Your care made Dad’s life longer and gave him more time to do the things he loved, like being with his daughters and grandchildren, cheering for his beloved Aggies, being in charge of a boat, and most of all, being next to our mom, his wife of 59 years.
My sisters and I will never get tired of talking about how great my dad was, so please bear with us. For now, I’m sharing these memories to show how grateful I am for the kind and smart man, father, and grandfather he was, as well as the loving legacy he left behind.
